bye bye summer! | Indianapolis children's photographer

Whew... summer sessions are finally over and the fall begins!

I've been so blessed to have such incredible clients once again this year. I thank God for allowing me to use my talent not only as an artistic outlet (for my sanity) but to document life for my clients. I LOVE my job!!

Little Charlie (no secret here because the chair gives his name away) has had four sessions with me. When I came for his fourth (one year session) I was thinking that I might see a slimmed down little guy (since that often is the case). Nope, not at all. In fact, he's bigger and cuter than ever. I would suppose that in about 6 months the chub will slowly fade away but for selfish reasons I hope not! He's just amazing and yummy in every way.

Boiler Up! | West Lafayette Family Photography

It was so fun hanging out on the Purdue campus for this session. Little "D" is going to be a big brother soon (although mom looks barely pregnant here) and we were able to capture some memories of him and his family before it changes!

This is a rather large share because I owe it to my readers/viewers!

At almost age 3, he loves to play with cars and is a huge fan of the Disney Cars movie.

This is pretty much how he traveled around campus! I think he has like a 3 hour nap when he got home!

At the end of the session we went to cross the street to head to the parking garage. "D" melted down in tears because he had SO much fun and didn't want to go home.

I like fat babies and I can not lie...

you other mothers can't deny.

These three images were taken the day Caleb turned 4 months. The above shot was inspired by one of my baby planners- baby Charlie.

Caleb is my yummiest baby ever with all the chubs. I can't even believe how much I love him! He is SO very loved by his siblings too and all the neighbor kids! The problem is he's about as heavy as most of them :-) LOL!

I am still searching for some inspiration for his 5 month shots so I better get the idea soon... because we all know if we blink it's gone!

All you need is love! | Indianapolis Family photography

Baby Sam is finally a year! It just seems like yesterday I was at his house documenting his newness and now he's off and walking. I am so glad to have connected with his family in such a way that we can get memories like these! The more you know someone, the more comfortable you can be in front of and behind the camera.

I've just got to tell you that I loved what the dad said about his priorities while we were taking a break. He said something to the point that he always wants to be present in the life of his children. If that means turning down a promotion that would require extensive traveling then so be it. He'd much rather live a life with his family than without. I have no doubt that he will be just that!

One thing about the momma is she isn't afraid to display her child as art ALL over her home. In the entry way hall, she has his four month thighs displayed as at least a 16x20"! LOVE IT!

I know it's doesn't seem like it here, but the canvas gallery wraps on her wall are actually 20x30.

Up close.

meeting Lila! | Carmel Indiana Children's Photographer

I loved getting together with my client again to photograph their young family and of course their newest addition, Lila. Big bros were so happy to love on her for the camera.

How sweet is she? Such a happy baby.

I can't wait to see them again this year with yet one more adoptive child. I feel honored to be person behind the camera capturing their family's memories. What a blessing their ministry of adoption is to the world!

Where oh where have I been?

I am back. Just for a minute or two. My life is in utter craziness like I've never experienced before...seriously. If I showed you my online calendar for the month you would totally understand. I am working on a couple of really big projects. Also, three of the kids started back to school and of course they are all in different schools making it even more confusing. Luckily, I've been shooting my little heart out though with some fantastic clients. In fact, I have about 7 or 8 sessions to still "show off" on this blog. I'll just start with this one for now.

This family happens to belong to my favorite pediatrician.... Dr. Alicia Leedy. I love her dearly. We've been seeing her since we moved back to Indiana in 2001. I can't tell you how many friends and neighbors I've referred to her that are so happy. I love the friendly staff, the clean facility and the lack of a wait (ok so maybe 5 minutes a time or two). Even my kids love going and they hate going anywhere! So, if you are a mom or a soon to be mom looking for a great doctor who provides superb care on the north side (Carmel) for your child she's the one! New Horizon Pediatrics 317-621-6888 (I know this number by heart). Oh, and her partner is pretty great too!

Her family is SO very much like my own. Each child's personality very much meshes with my own children. And I've gotta love her for wanting me to capture them having fun... exactly the way I want to remember life!

Here are all three of the kiddos. This is "go team" shot, pretending they just had a huddle for their soccer game. I just love it!

Little sister fights her way with her big bros. They don't stand a chance against her! We had so much fun!

So many more from this session but I'm wiped out with a cold too. I'll be posting more from other sessions in the next day or two so stay tuned. Thanks everyone for the emails asking if I was still alive!

P.S. If you haven't noticed.... I am using proper capitalization! My daughter being the girl that she is, has been on me to type properly. I can't tell you how many times I've gone back and corrected this already. Bad habits are hard to break but I'll do this for you Madison!
