a new baby

here's the baby born to the family/maternity session a few weeks back (mom wearing the black dress holding flowers). little "s" was so sweet... never cried. She really doesn't stand a chance though with her big brother who is only two himself. i've never experienced two kiddos in diapers so my heart goes out to those who do!

this baby's momma is a pharmacist so it only makes sense to put the babe in the medicine cabinet right!?

a natural beauty

it was a real treat to work with a senior girl who was so "real" and natural. very little makeup, such a tomboy/athlete and so kind. i appreciate a girl who is comfortable in her own skin and can still look her real age.

playing catch up

i am trying to stay caught up on all my sesssions. i am shooting four sessions a week right now so i'm doing double time.
here are couple sessions from this week. first we have sweet siblings. they were such a joy!
i love this photo b/c they did this all on their own.

ok, the funny thing here was i told nick to read the book while i took pictures but not to worry about the words... to just make them up. well, he totally shocked me and could already read like a first grader... and he's only a preschooler. how cool!

then to the next session. a beautiful six week old boy who looks so much like his daddy.

now you can get some good sleep since i've finally revealed my christmas card templates... hee hee. most of the new templates include photos on both sides and in most cases the colors can be switched out from blue to red for a more traditional look.
all the holiday cards are press printed on linen finished cardstock front and back (including envelopes). price is $60 for 25 cards. size is 5x7" unless square and then 5x5". you can see all the holiday templates on my website under the galleries tab/holiday cards.

here's just one for show.

who says that boys can't be dressed as cute as girls?

i think this crew gets the award for best dressed. i could just stare at them all day!

ok, gotta get to work now that my blog is all caught up with sneak peeks.

petite. sweet... and a little bit of bulldog

little "S" was such an happy go lucky baby during our session.

well, two years later he is still such a cutie... just a tad tougher to photograph :-)

and a new little brother has joined the family who couldn't be any cuter.
let me just say these boys were just like mine... "100% boy"

something new...

yet very cool. a very proud and lucky daughter gave a session to her parents in honor of her mother's birthday. she commissioned me to photograph her parents at this milestone in their life. i of course went in wondering how it would go since i am used to the toddler crowd. i am so glad that i did. it was such a moving session and they were so delightful. it made we look forward to the love and laughter that can be shared in the later years of marriage and life. the joy they had together and for one another was incredible. i almost teared up while i watched/photographed the mother playing her piano. she was so very comfortable (or at least appeared to be) in front of the camera. she played her piano by memory and sang all the while looking at her husband (while he sang right back at her). i was in awe. i wish i could have seen her play years ago to her two young daughters while they danced in around her. oh, and when i asked the father to kiss his bride he did so without any reservations and i must admit even more comfortably than most engaged couples do. i guess you look forward to those things in life and stop taking simple things like hugs and kisses for granted.

just love this location

as you have probably noticed by just viewing my most recent posts, i am very active at this one location. what's not to love... the water fountain, the GREEN soft grass (no dead grass here!), the white columns and colorful brick buildings. best of all there are few pedestrians invading "my new favorite" place.

i am also particulary drawn to sidewalk shots these days.

four yrs

It's was great to see my past client again, whom I've been photographing since she her first year of life. I felt so proud when she would hold my hand as we strolled around looking for locations or playing hide and go seek.

this was so cool! the sidewalk that we used just so happened to have her name on it "Liberty".

got some catching up to do so more to posts to come soon.

our labor day weekend

we had a wonderful and relaxing (well as relaxing as it can be with a family of 5) labor day weekend. we spent some time just getting stuff done around the house and then had our annual family reunion. we camped one night with our families and did the whole nine yards. from swimming, to canoeing, to rope swinging, to making smores, catching toads and even fishing. i even slept in the tent this year... normally i get out of it b/c i'm either nursing or have a newborn. i made the sacrifice this year and i'm so glad that i didn't miss a thing.

me and my favorite daughter :-)
and here's the frog/toad hunting fool...the only shot i have of him where's he not looking down trying to find a creature or treasure in the water. we are now the proud owner of a frog! lovely! hey, but at least his hair looks cute here! also, i wanted to update you on my availability this fall. All weekends are now booked though November with with the exception of Nov 22. My cutoff this year is Nov 15 for getting prints back in time for Christmas. my only other days available are tuesday and thursday mornings at 10am. these are great slots for newborns or children not in school. please contact me for more information! i will be selling gift certificates if you are interested in giving the gift of photos this year. Stay tuned for my newest holiday card templates! you're gonna love them :-)
