fun kids

This family was very similar to my own family (girl, boy, boy and ages are very close) so I felt right at home with these kiddos. I was excited when dad suggested we go outside!! I love mixing things up!

this little man sure wanted my attention (and that's an understatement right mom and dad!)!!

and this is a true 10 yr old girl these days... reading a Hannah Montana book with her favorite stuffed animal right next to her.

she's just getting a taste...

of all the photographs she's going to have in her childhood! I've photographed this family possibly seven times now. It was fun to come and meet their newest daughter. She seems to have a very laid back personality to balance out her big sister's pizaz and spunk!

and this is why I love to photograph babies in the first 2 weeks of life. For one, they still look like a newborn and also, they sleep so much easier!

wow, what a wave of newborn sessions lately...and I have another one due in the next two weeks.

my trip to haiti

So i went on a medical mission trip with Nehemiah Vision Ministries to Chambrun, Haiti. We did a 4 day medical clinic for the school and the community. I played "pharmacist" for the week. We saw over 400 patients! Some of the guys also did construction on the Children's Home in the community too. A very productive week. I don't even know where to begin with highlighting the week. So, here's just a few I've been able to take a look at.

a mother and daughter in their Sunday best after church service

I don't want to show tons of sad stuff but this one really struck me. We visited one family and they welcomed us in their mudhut (home). Their new baby (#11 or something like that) was with them (who also didn't have a name yet). We noticed the baby's bed lying on the ground. Wow!
this is how everyone travels around the town if they are lucky enough to even have a vehicle.

This is a sight I saw SO often in the backroom. The kids would not stop looking in to see what we are all doing!
and if I could have taken any one child home with me it would have been Clifford. He is 9 years old and the cutest and most loveable child I've ever met.

this is just one of the nicer homes in the community.
and these two folks made a special bond.

at last here's the whole crew standing on the grounds of the soon to be new school building!

Future trips will be every April and October. If you are interested at all in taking part or helping out please let me know. You can also visit the NVM website and blog from my sidebar to find out more.

a week of newborns!

Newborn sessions give me the opportunity to get my "baby feel" without having to have another one myself! Here's the 2nd of 3 newborn sessions in a row. Little Miss "M" was such a sleep fighter.

We tried lots of tactics and still no sleep... but still got some cuties.

big yawn!! getting sleepier.
ahh! finally peacefully asleep.i promise to show some snapshots from my trip... in time. It's crazy trying to get back to normal.

This little baby girl was SO sweet, cooperative and such a little model. Her parents could not be more filled with joy!
this one melts me. it's like they are smiling harmoniously.

anything to steal a kiss.

My son Christian always wants to give his sister a kiss and she just refuses!! She will kiss her youngest brother to death but won't even let Christian come close to her. So, as I was going through some shots from today of my kids with their cousins I came across this and just laughed by butt off! He found her hand!
