a thanksgiving session

We all know how difficult it is to get families together at any given time and so we love the Holidays for just that reason. I was happy to be able to come capture some memories of "togethern-ness" for this crew. The client just so happens to be a very meaningful person in my family's life too :-)

i am sure the grandparent's will treasure this.

new

new baby (who has the cutest name)... and a new shot (something I usually get of just dad and baby)
this is SO not staged. He was watching me meter and I looked down and saw this face!

a little chilly!

It was a bit chilly for an outdoor session with little ones but I think we made it through just fine. I found that we caught a lot of natural moments playing in the leaves, taking walks and being comforted by a family member. Those are the memories I think are the most meaningful. Ones we can look back on and say "that was us and that's what we were like".

fooled you!

Sometimes the unpredictable make the best photographs. That's what I think these kids did tonight. I thought these kids were the easiest ever for the first part of the session. Then, as soon as they saw they could get near the water it all ended. I was of no value or importance to them and we tried everything to change that. I think that's what I love about my sessions. I never know how things are going to go and that's what makes them so darn interesting and fun!
always love it when I can get the parents together like this :-)

this has to be one of my newest favs. I love that he's looking for an airplane and that I still have big sissy's attention. So real here.

a bond

I have photographed lots of family pets during sessions and you can always feel the bond that the animal has with it's owners... but none compare to the bond that I captured between this little 3 yr old and her doggy. She (the dog) gave little "R" comfort when I first arrived and she was a bit shy of me... as you can see right here.

it didn't take too long to warm up. Here she is collapsed on the couch after just jumping on it!

by the end of the session she gave me a hug and kiss and I think I almost convinced her I was taking her home with me. She was so cute!

remember this baby??...

it is still my all time fav and 6 months later she is such a big girl...but still make some magic for us!

here she is now at one year old. this was the last shot of the session. She was tuckered from going to the park and missing her nap.mom and dad said she was having an "off" day but she sure had some good expressions.

I have no idea why she was so tired.
but she is very much loved by her family!

sweetie

check out this sweet 5 month old.

after searching for a favorite spot at the park we ended up here. I'd say the results were great!

here's the proud parents! What a sweet family too!

go Colts!

Here's a family that just LOVES their Colts!
he's not cute or anything.
I loved that they brough along their ATV for the session. Their cousin (another Colt's fan too) joined in on the fun.

love the shadows here.

indoors again!

It was nice to get out of town for a session and do something indoors. As much as I love the outdoor stuff I need to get back to my roots where I started...indoors.
Here's 1 year old "D" who let me interrupt his morning routine!
