New Pricing-- effective March 1

Just wanted to announce my new prices effective for all appointments booked after March 1, 2007 (see INVESTMENT page on my website for details). If you are already on my books and I've already received your session fee for your appointment, then you are still on old pricing for that particular session! I will email out a PDF to those particular clients with my old pricing for your reference.

Also, I have a referral program in place. From now on when you refer someone they will need to put your name on my CONTACT form of my website and you will receive a $30 print credit for each person that you refer who books a session. The referral credit is only to be applied toward upcoming sessions... not past.

I am currently booking appointments in the month of June for 2007. My schedule gets VERY heavy in the fall (especially for Christmas cards photos) so if you think you will want a session then, I encourage you to contact me in the next couple of months. I will be updating my blog with cancellations as they arise so check back frequently! Also, I am planning to open my schedule up more in the summer and fall.

I have some fun sessions coming up this weekend so stay tuned to more photos. Have a great day!

tiny

She has to be the tiniest newborn I have photographed yet.

I love how snuggled she looks in the arms of her big brother... her protector.
Big brother gave me some cheesy smiles and I had to make animal noises to try to make him laugh. He thinks I'm a tad crazy I am sure... especially when I told him I was going to take a picture of just one eye... He was like... "uhh, okay, whatever?!".

Bonding

Photographing people is sort like politely invading on their privacy just for an hour or two. Sitting back, watching, waiting and observing everything... hoping to get some of who they really are captured in my camera. It's only natural that I get to know these people on a intimate level. Especially, the more I come back to their home. A friendship is created between us...a bond is starting to form.
I have had the opportunity to photograph this family 5 times (including this current session). From their maternity session at my home (the day before they gave birth!) to the hospital visit for their newborn session to 3 more sessions in their home! I feel like I've really gotten to know them and what they do and don't like. Their daughter "S" is so serious but oh so cute... not to menton their home is amazingly decorated and cute as can be. Here are a few from their session. We have SO many good ones!

remember this cutie!

Wow, I am on a roll with posting lately. I take advantage of my weekends!
This is little "E" who is also in the "babies" gallery on the website. We just had to duplicate the clock/mirror shot to see how much she's changed. She has blossomed into quite a beautiful 7 month old baby. She really is absolutely stunning! I am overwhelmed with all the images I captured of her and it's going to be really difficult to narrow them down for my client.

Her happiest moments were when we let her just be naked and look at the snow out the window!!

Winter Portaits

Don't limit your family memories to spring, summer and fall. Check out these fun family images. Do you recognize these kiddos from my website? They are my little models. I think I photograph them almost as much as I do my own kids.LOL! My husband thinks these look like Gap advertisements.

we (or shall I say "she") had to shovel a path just to get in the backyard.
check out this HOT looking couple.

love these snuggly sisters. They didn't want me to leave their house when the pictures were over. I guess it's fun to get snowballs thrown at you!

what i saw today

Love the way the lighting is hitting her face. Sort of angelic. Might have to print this one BIG! He put this hat on by himself. Doesn't really go with his outfit but it's sure a fashion statement! Now, get your pants buttoned Connor you chubby boy!
Christian is really fascinated with dinosaurs. I should even go to say that he's a bit OCD. He draws dinos all day and watches the Land Before Time series. Oh the phases they go through. I've got this one documented!

a beatiful snow day!

School was closed and hubby was home today (working from home) but oh what a beautiful day. The whole family under the same roof for 24 hours... could be dangerous some days. We had so much fun sleeping in, baking a Valentine's Day cake and just chillin'. I wish everyday could be this laid back and fun.

I first came down to the basement to see my little boys cuddled into the bean bag watching the Wiggles. Horrible lighting made me reconsider whether or not to take this picture but what the heck... cranked up the ISO to 1600 and captured this moment.

I am not a baker nor do I really even enjoy cooking all that much... but when I do I really try to get my kids involved. This is not a pretty cake when you're up close, but man was it fun to make. We enjoyed eating the remains that were cut off to shape the heart. It was a bonding experience for the kids and I! Again, I have to give credit to Family Fun website for the idea. We always seem to create something that only resembles their product! LOL!

This photo was actually Maddie's idea. I was impressed that she suggested Christian to move his body down so that his feet line up with hers. I think she's been around her momma too long to know what looks fun! I did however ask her to kiss him. It might be the only time she has done that willingly!

I also took the time today to take a photo of my photo wall/gallery (idea from Pottery Barn arrangement). This is how you can arrange various size frames together, including storyboards. The other is just a close-up of what a storyboard looks like in a frame. I also have one is Connor's room that is unframed and sits on a ledge.

and finally I have an example of how to arrange photos on ledges to create a one of a kind gallery. This particular one is a client of mine from the fall and consists of photos from the same session. We layered them over top of each other to create depth... also letting us to display more frames. Please let me know if you need help arranging your photos in your home. There is no replacement or meaningful way to create art for your home than to let LIFE be the art.

welcoming little sister

This session was so much fun. Not only were the kids a riot to work with, but the family adopted a beatiful baby girl. She was so cherished by her big brothers.... but they really did get most of my attention!! Mom told me before I got there that the boys may not want to get their pictures taken. Well, that was NOT the case when I arrived. They were thrilled to see me and almost fought over who was going to get their pictures taken first! Now, that's what makes my job so much fun! Here are just a few to share.

isn't she a doll!!
I turned my back to put my camera away and heard them giggling. So, I turned back around and found them laughing like this together. Perfect photo opportunity of brotherly love!
and well this one tells a story of being the youngest sibling in a family (especially of 2 older brothers). This just cracks me up!

my sister

I did her maternity pictures as her 30th bday present! It was so fun to take her pictures b/c being my sister and all I could say the funniest things to her that I would never say to a "real client"! It was a lot of fun. She still has 3 months to go so I will most likely be taking some more in a couple months.

Connor's girlfriend arrived!

Connor had a playdate yesterday with a little friend, born 1 day before him. She is so exact opposite of him but they do say opposites attract! Christian just had to be a part of the fun. Normally, he NEVER desires to be in front of the camera (typical photographer's child syndrome) but as you can see here he was no stranger for attention. If you want to see more pics of this little chubby cheeker as well of some silly photos of myself and Christian dancing visit Sara's blog http://evieunplugged.blogspot.com/.
